Boakye unhappy at Stars snub

Ghana striker Isaac Boakye has revealed the doors of the national team have been shut on him despite an impressive performance with newly-promoted German Bundesliga side Nuremberg this season.

The 27-year-old who last played for the Black Stars in 2005 has bemoaned his exclusion from the team.

He joined Wolfsburg in 2006 after three successful seasons at Armenia Bielefeld where he scored 24 times in 61 games.

But he was ravaged by injuries and fell out with Felix Magath who decided to farm him out to Mainz 05.

The former Kotoko striker has since been a revelation at the newly promoted Nuremberg.

"For long time I have been playing in the league but they have never called me and for me am not even dreaming they will call me in the national team," Boakye told Ghanasoccernet.com

"I have been playing well with my team and am glad I helped them gain promotion back to the Bundesliga.

"But I have been out of the national team for over four years and they are not even looking at my direction."

Boakye maintains he has done enough to deserve a call up into the national team.

"I am forever ready to contribute my quota if am called to play for the Black Stars. If when am not playing I have been praying for the team to win all matches.

"But to be honest am not sure anybody will call me to play in the national team because for a long time I have not been playing even though am regular with the club."
