Blackburn Make Enquiry For Bekoe

GHANA international Eric Bekoe is attracting interest from Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce.

The predatory striker, 21, has been impressing in the Egyptian league for Petrojet, scoring 13 goals in his last 16 games.

Such a hot streak inevitably led to calls that he should be included in coach Milovan Rajevac's World Cup plans but he wasn't one of the four forwards named by the Serbian in his preliminary squad.

Petrojet's £2million valuation is unlikely to put off Allardyce if he thinks the promising attacker has the ability to play in the Premier League.

Although other clubs have been tracking Bekoe, a move to England is certain to appeal and Rovers are understood to have already made a firm enquiry.

The level-headed youngster has confirmed that he expects Petrojet to release him after rejecting several bids during the course of the season.

But he stressed: "I am not after money. That is not why I want to move.

"It's the platform that I'm relishing so I can show everybody that I will be able to compete at every level."
