Black Stars Coach includes Nyarko, Ofori-Quaye but drops Ayew

Jones Cecil Attuquayefio has called up two foreign-based stars to beef up his squad for the Black Stars' World Cup game against Sudan on the 25 February. They are Everton's Alex Nyarko and Olympiakos' Peter Ofori-Quaye. However, he has dropped Yozgastpor striker Kwame Ayew from his squad.

Jones, who seems to be bowing to public pressure in his coaching duties with the Black Stars, also failed to call Kocalispor's Stephen Baidoo who received the wrath of the Ghanaian media and fans for his lacklustre performance in Black Stars' disgraceful showing in their game against Liberia which they lost by three goals to one in Accra.

Also missing out of the list of foreign-based players is Mark Edusei.

Among the foreign-based players who made up the 24-man squad are Richard Kingston, Samuel Osei Kuffour, Emmanuel Duah, Yaw Preko, C.K. Akonnor, Otto Addo, Stephen Appiah, Charles Amoah and Samuel Johnson.

For the locally based players, Jones has seven players from Accra Hearts of Oak, they are Sammy Adjoin, Amankwa Mireku, Stephen Tetteh, Jacob Nettey, Agyeman Duah, Ishmeal Addo and Emmanuel Osei Kuffour.

From Asante Kotoko, are Isaac Owusu and Lawrence Adjei and Obuasi Goldfields, he called up Nana Arhin Duah, Constant Mantey and Kofi Amoako with Baffour Gyan from Liberty Professionals. They are expected to begin training on Monday

A defeat for the Black Stars in Sudan would close the chapter on the Ghanaian World Cup dream and would also most likely escalate calls for the termination of Jones' appointment as a national coach as many Ghanaians are beginning to doubt his ability to handle the team.
