WAFA midfielder Richard Danso scored twice in the second-half as Ghana came from behind to defeat Benin 3-1 in the Africa Youth Championship qualifier in Cape Coast on Saturday.

Captain Issahaku Kondu scored the other goal to make have good hopes of progressing after the visitors stunned the home side with their opener in the first-half.

The Black Satellites had to struggle to fightback to defeat the visitors after the Beninoise opened the scoring against the run of play at the halfway stage before the break.

Allagbani Saliou took advantage of his side's counter-attack to fire past the Black Satellites goalkeeper to put the visitors in the lead against the run of play.

A disjointed display ensure that the match went into the break with the visitors leading but what looks like good half-time talks by coach Cobbinah gave Ghana the edge.

Danso, who had been out of sort after wasting lot of chances, drew the home side level on the hour mark before Konda's strike 12 minutes later put in Ghana in the lead.

The Black Satellites sealed the victory with six minutes remaining as Danso hit his second of the afternoon to seal the victory and give Ghana a good chance for the return leg.

Ghana will travel to Cotonou next week for the second-leg to decide which side will advance to the next round of the qualifiers.
