Black Queens 3 Banyana Banyana 0

Banyana Banyana got off to a disastrous campaign in the African Women Nations Cup suffering an embarrassing 3-0 defeat by Ghana at the Caledonian Stadium on Saturday.

It was a well deserved victory for the Black Queens of Ghana, who were all over SA from the first whistle.

Ghana grabbed their first goal in the 36th minute through Amo Kyewaa Akua after connecting Garku Memuna's cross

The visitors went further ahead in the 50th minute when troublesome Gloria Foriwa converted a cross a from Akua.

Bernice Asante also added her name in the scorers list in the 76th minute with a superb header giving goalkeeper Itulemeleng Chimeloane no chance.

Banyana Banyana will play their next game against Zimbabwe in Germiston on Tuesday.

The Zimbabweans drew 1-1 with Ethiopia in the first game on Saturday.

Defending champions, Nigeria, will play Algeria in the first game at Johannesburg Stadium on Sunday. Kick off time is 13h00.

Mali and Cameroon will lock horns in the second game at the same venue at 15h00
