Coach of Sekondi Hasaacas Yusif Basigi has slammed the match officials for their handling of their Ghana Premier League (GPL) Match-Day 12 encounter after his side painfully lost to Accra Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.

Accra Hearts of Oak were fortunate to get all three points after after Richmond Opoku of Sekondi Hasaacas scored what looked a legitimate goal but his effort was ruled out by the match officials who deemed it illegitimate and denied his side the equalizer.

The referee’s decision aroused a feeling of ridicule by Coach Basigi who demonstrated his frustration after the match towards the match officials.

He said, “Hearts scored a perfect goal whilst we where also denied a perfect one”. Referee O. B. Amankwah initially allowed the goal but assistant referee Malik Salifu denied the goal, “we did all we could to redeemed ourselves but we couldn’t”.

“I couldn’t figure out the interpretation assistant Salifu gave to our goal and I am really sad with regards to the disallowed goal,” he concluded.

Sekondi Hasaacas are now placed 13th on the league table, one point away from the relegation zone and will next face Ebusua Dwarfs in the GPL at the Sekondi Sports Stadium.
