Ayew suspended for tough PSG clash

Leaders Olympique Marseille will miss the services of talisman Andre Ayew for their French Ligue 1 Classique against Paris Saint-Germain in a fortnight due to suspension.

Ayew earned his third yellow card of the season during Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Olympique Lyon at the Stade Gerland.

The Ghana international had been booked against Nice in their fourth week encounter and the 2-0 win over Toulouse. “Refereeing was not good at all,” a disappointed Ayew said. “I think Flo (Thauvin) had a penalty. I was not far from the action.

“Jeremy Morel was booked for his first tackle mistake and it has a yellow card. I make a mistake in the game: yellow.

“He (referee Lionel Jaffredo) knows very well that there was the match against Paris waiting for us after. I do not know if this is done on purpose, I am disgusted.”

Before travelling to the Parc des Princes for the derby, Marseille will host RC Lens in their 12th week fixture.
