Asante Kotoko to make history again

…as first FCP Premier League winners

Unless a super miracle occurs, Kumasi Asante Kotoko have been declared by many Ghanaian football fans as winners of the ongoing first First Capital Bank Premiership.

What is now to be determined at the end of the season are winners of the Golden Gloves, Golden Boot and best player or Golden Ball winner.

At the outdooring of the new First Capital Plus League Trophy which stands at 90 centimeters, John Kofi Mensah CEO of First Capital Bank expressed that his company has confidence in the Ghana Football Association (GFA) headed by Kwesi Nyantakyi that is why they are committing Ten Million Dollars into the game in Ghana.

He noted that football has great potential for the Ghanaian economy and their bank will put in a lot of innovations to attract greater attention and patronage.

Mr. Mensah appealed to members of the Ghana Football Association and football fans to patronize the bank’s products as there are much to be won.

Kwesi Nyantakyi, President of the GFA thanked First Capital Plus Bank for coming on board as a sponsor of the Ghana Premier League at the right time and urged the competing 16 clubs to raise their performance to make the competition keen for a worthy winner to emerge.

He was hopeful that the winners will change annually for all the top clubs to have a feel of the trophy supposed to be the second biggest in the world.

The GFA President urged football officials and fans to open accounts with First Capital Bank to inspire them to enjoy sponsoring the game before Dr. Daniel Markin, the man who brokered the deal revealed that football fans would be rewarded with a special percussion drums soon to motivate them to cheer and sing better.

Jerome Otchere, a member of the Asante Kotoko said he was delighted that his club will chalk another historic feat, but prayed that his bitterest rival Accra Hearts of Oak would push up a fight to challenge them.

Aziz Haruna Futah of Chapter O fame noted that it is very sad that Accra Hearts of Oak sacked their coach at a time that they were closely at the heels of Kotoko, but now they are run away winners.

He however added that Hearts players must fight for awards like the Golden Boot, Best Goalkeepers and Most Exciting player at the end of the season.

Oduro Nyarko of Wa All Stars said all club officials are impressed with the presence of First Capital Plus Bank and urged football fans to patronize matches to make the sponsors happy.
