Asankrangwa (W/R) Feb.24 GNA - Asankrangwa Ridge Stars football club on Sunday played a highly determined game to rout Enchi Manchester United 5-1 in a second division football match at Asankrangwa.

Ridge Stars indicated their intention of winning the game when at the blast of the whistle for proceedings to begin, they forced the visitors to concede a corner kick in the second minute, which was however wasted.

Ridge Stars never looked back and with the partisan cheers from the home crowd they managed to find the net in the 26th minute through the skipper, Kwasi Serbeh.

The homesters got their second goal in the 35th minute through midfielder, Kwame Lalas.

After the recess, Ridge Stars pinned their opponents to their own half and scored two more beautiful goals in the 50th and 52nd minutes through Lalas and Tijani Mohammed respectively.

In the 75th minute, a hard-pressed defender of Ridge Stars scored an own goal to reduce the score line and give Man-U a consolidation goal. Ridge Stars were on target again in the dying minutes of the game when they were awarded a spot kick after their attacker was fouled in the vital area for defender Mark Fish to expertly slot in the penalty kick to raise their tally and final score line to 5-1.
