Asamerik FC draws with Noble Kings

Cape Coast Oct.14, GNA-Cape Coast Asamerik F/C, played a determined game on Sunday to hold Twifo Praso Noble Kings to a 2-2 draw in their second division league match played at Praso. Asamerik who attacked first shocked Noble Kings with a 4th minute goal scored by outside left, Kwame Akompong.

Undaunted by this early lead, Noble Kings returned the attack and equalised through centre half, George Boakye in the 14th minute. The cheers that greeted this goal had scarcely died down, when Akompong again hit the net to restore their lead to 2-1 in the 16th minute. However, before half time, Kings' outside right, Frank Appiah, in a solo effort, levelled matters in the 36th minute. Results of other second division matches played are:-

In another development, members of the local supporters union of Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs on Monday, donated 10 footballs valued at two million cedis to the club at a ceremony at the Cape Coast sports stadium. Making the presentation, Mr James Ennin, chairman of the union, said the donation was its contribution towards boosting the morale of the players. Mr Ennin said the union, which has been bearing the transport and camping expenses of the players has plans to provide the club with 12 pairs of football boots soon. He appealed to all supporters of the club both at home and abroad, to contribute to the welfare of the club to help it qualify for the premier division.

Mr Mohammed Ashraf, technical director of the club who received the balls on behalf of the club, thanked the supporters for their gesture and expressed the hoped that the players would reciprocate the gesture by taking their training seriously.
