Appeals committee wants bribery case heard by ‘right body’

The bribery dispute involving Techiman City and Wa United is expected to drag on for a while longer after the Appeals Committee urged the Ghana Football Association to refer the case to the right body.

The Appeals Committee says the Ethics Committee which made the finding of attempted bribery against Techiman City CEO Charles Kojo Ntim, banned him for six months and demoted the club to division two was not properly constituted and did not have the mandate to sit on the case.

The CEO of Wa Africa United, Nana Kwabena Gyamerah Yiakwan II was also banned for six months.

It now wants the GFA to properly constitute a body that will re-examine the allegations.

Techiman City have been celebrating what they say is promotion to the Ghana Premier League but the Ghana Football Association says until the disciplinary cases are dealt with, nothing is decided.
