Angola's football team to play Egypt, Morocco

Angola's national team of soccer will play the national teams of Egypt, Morocco and Canary Islands in the preparation for the 2008 African Cup of Nations (CAN) in Ghana, a sports official said here on Wednesday. Oliveira Goncalves, coach of the Angolan national team of soccer, told reporters that the friendly matches will take place in the first fortnight of January next year in different territories. He said the program of preparation will start with the match with the Canary Islands early in January and Egypt on January 13, in Lisbon, while the game with Morocco will take place in Casablanca on January 16 or 17, before leaving for Accra, capital of Ghana. However, Oliveira Goncalves admitted the possibility of other friendlies with European teams based in the Portuguese region of Algarve to take place. The national team will leave Angola on December 26 this year for Algarve, Portugal. Angola will play Tunisia, Senegal and South Africa in the preliminary stage of the CAN 2008.
