Amamoo to open Goalkeeping Academy

Ghana Black Stars goalie, William Amamoo and Kaliaaer Sportswear UK would be opening a Goalkeeping Academy in Ghana come early next year according to the former Heart of Lions player who signed a mouth-watering deal with the multinational company early last week.

Amamoo who would be wearing the new range of Kaliaaer gloves according to the contract, would be with the UK based Sportswear firm on a two-year period and also, be the face of Kaliaaer Sportswear in Africa as the company intends to extend its wide range of goalkeeping products to the African continent come next year.

Furthermore, William would also be part of the Kaliaaer Product tour in Africa ahead of the commencement of the Africa Cup of Nations and FIFA World Cup finals respectively and now joins Manchester United's Tom Heaton on the Kaliaaer multinational brand.

“I pondered a lot before joining Kaliaaer Sportswear after my two-year deal with Keepersport had expired,” he told *GHANA FOOTY*. “Kaliaaers' offer was good and they (Kaliaaer) are also going to help me establish a Goalkeeping Academy in Ghana to help bring up some of the best goalkeepers in Ghana with the right developmental structures.

“The most important thing that I had always dreamt of was how to give back to the society that has made me one of the best goalkeepers in the world. From where I come from in Ghana, I am not just a Black Stars goalkeeper but a role model to the youth in the community.

“Setting up the Academy in Ghana would be fulfilling a dream social responsibility after the Ibrahim Dossey foundation recently.”
