Akaminko set to make injury return in two weeks

Eskisehirspor’s Ghana defender Jerry Akaminko could be in action in the next couple of weeks following a step up in his recovery exercise.

Akaminko, 26, injured his ankle after landing awkwardly in Ghana’s pre-World Cup friendly against Holland.

He was ruled out of the World Cup and is yet to feature for his Turkish side since the start of the 2014/2015 season.

The ex-Lions defender has been put through a series of sensitive medical treatment as he prepares to make a return to the field.

He is in line to make Eskisehirspor’s team for the first time this season after the international break.

Akaminko’s return will boost Ghana’s chances at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations tournament if qualification is sealed this month.
