Akambi praises Hearts despite defeat

Former board member of Accra Hearts of Oak, Alhaji Akambi, has praised the playing body of despite their slim 1-0 loss to Heart of Lions on Sunday.

The Phobians who were hopeful of getting at least a point from the ‘lion’s den’, failed to do so as Osman Muntaka’s 49th minute goal for Lions was enough to push the Phobians further into the relegation zone.

But Alhaji Akambi who witnessed the match at the Kpando Park was full of praise for the Hearts of Oak players.

“This is football and at times these things happen. We played one of the best games so far this season and yet we lost. The Lions match for me is Hearts of Oak’s best performance I have seen since the season began and I want to believe that we will replicate it on Wednesday against Aduana Stars”, Alhaji Akambi mentioned.

According to him, though the Phobians have lost two matches on the row in the league, he is not the least worried and urged the supporters not to abandon the team at this crucial stage.
