African Women Soccer Championships - Nov. 15 to 29

Accra, Feb. 10, GNA - The Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has fixed November 15 to November 29, 2008 for the African Women Soccer Championship Tournament in Equatorial Guinea.

It has also disqualified Central African Republic; Chad; Kenya, Rwanda and Sierra Leone from participating in CAF Inter-Clubs Competitions in 2008 for failing to fulfil their financial obligations to the Confederation.

These decisions were taken at an Executive Committee Meeting held on Saturday in Accra on the sidelines of the Ghana 2008 African Cup of Nations Tournament.

The Meeting commended Heads of Accra, Kumasi, Sekondi and

Tamale Venues of the CAF Organising Committee for hosting a

successful tournament, which afforded African footballers the

opportunity to exhibit their talents. The Executive Committee said it would continue to organise

programmes to improve the level of officiating and expressed

general satisfaction about the performance of Referees at the

tournament. The next meeting of the Committee would be held in Tunis,

Tunisia from February 23 to February 24, 2008.
