Adwinsa FC withdraws from league

Adwinsa FC of Nsoatre has withdrawn from the ongoing Division Two league. The team said it took the decision because the Brong-Ahafo Regional Football Association, (RFA) has not been fair to them by declaring them losers in their match against Soccer Stars which was scheduled for the Sunayni barracks. The decision is contained in a letter signed by the chairman of the team, Mr. Antwi Boasiako and addressed to the Chairman of the Regional Football Association. Adwinsa FC wrote to the RFA requesting that the venue should be changed from the Sunyani barracks because the team had problems with the military. It would be recalled that during their match with Sunyani City at Nsoatre, there was a confrontation between the military and some supporters of Adwinsa FC. Adwinsa FC therefore found it unwise to play their match at the barracks.

Again Adwinsa FC said the disciplinary committee of the RFA erred by rescheduling their match with Sunyani Suncity FC which ended abruptly. Adwinsa FC argued that by the rules of the FA, any team that causes an abrupt end to a match should be punished. The team therefore does not understand why Suncity FC has not been punished since they were the cause of the disturbances in that match. By calling for a replay on neutral grounds, Adwinsa FC is convinced that the FA is favouring Suncity FC. Following the Nsoatre disturbances, the RFA fined both Adwinsa FC and Suncity FC GH¢100 each and ordered Adwinsa FC to play their home matches at Bechem.
