George Gyawu, Aduana Stars management member, says former Hearts of Oak manager Kenichi Yatsuhashi was better than current coach Sergio Traguil.

The two clubs shared the spoils after a goalless draw last weekend at the Accra Sports Stadium in matchday 18 of Ghana Premier League.

Kenichi, 48, guided Hearts to finish fourth after the first round of the season but mutually parted ways with the club in June after he requested for a five-week leave to acquire a coaching certificate in his native country, Japan. Traguil is yet to record a win after three games in charge.

“This is going to sound controversial but I think it's the truth. Kenichi Yatsuhashi was far better than Sergio Traguil who succeeded him," Gyawu told Asempa FM.

“Aduana played Hearts in Dormaa Ahenkro under Kenichi and the return fixture was under Traguil but one can easily spot some differences in these two coaches with the games played.

“In Dormaa, Hearts nearly won all the maximum points because their tactics and game plan were awesome than what we faced last weekend. However, I understand the departure of Kenichi was the decision of the club's top hierarchies, so let's give them the benefit of the doubt but I think they could've settled any differences between them," he added.

Gyawu also insisted that Aduana are favourites to win the league title, despite sitting in fourth place behind All Stars, Asante Kotoko and Hearts.

"Aduana are not far away from winning the title. What we've got to do is to try and pick some valuable points in our away games just like we did against Hearts. We have games against title contenders Kotoko in Kumasi and leaders All Stars in Wa which we must at least pick three points. We can win the league with consistency," he said.

Aduana host New Edubiase United on Wednesday at the Nana Agyeman Badu Park.
