Aduana Stars in tricky duel against Universal Stars

Kumasi, Aug 18, GNA - Zone One leaders, Aduana Stars would on Wednesday seek to keep their dream of qualifying for the Premier league on course when they clash against Techiman Universal Stars in their Division One Middle League encounter at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The Dormaa-based Aduana Stars accounted for a determined Tamale Guan United when they snatched the maximum three points at stake with a 3-2 win in their opening match. Universal Stars on the other hand shared honours with Bechem United as they settled for a 2-2 drawn game. The upcoming match, which is a Brong Ahafo regional derby, promises to be uncompromising in all departments of the game as the two teams are familiar with their strengths and weaknesses.

Aduana Stars, however, seem to have a psychological advantage over their opponents by virtue of their impressive outing in the first match. A win for them would cement their first position in Zone One with six points, a result which can inch them closer to making it to the Premier League for the first time in the Club's history. In an interview with the GNA Sports in Kumasi ahead of the crucial encounter, Aduana's Head Coach Abdul Rahman said morale in camp was very high following their win against Guan United.

The Club, he said would go all out to silence Universal Stars when they lock horns on the day and therefore urged their teeming supporters to troop to the stadium in their numbers to cheer on the team to ensure total victory to advance to the next match. 18 Aug. 09
