Adiyiah defends Karsiyaka move

Dominic Adiyiah insists he was right to join Turkish Second Division side Karsiyaka on loan from AC Milan in the face of mounting criticism.

The Ghanaian international who was top scorer and best player at the 2009 World Youth Championships has struggled massively at club level since but his decision to sign for the ambitious Turkish side is considered too low for a player of his talent.

And while the player understands people's concerns, he thinks they are wrong. "It may not be the top division but it is just a step below," he told the television program Oti Adjei Report in an exclusive interview. "People are asking why I would go to the Turkey second division but the truth is they were the only club that truly wanted me."

"People mentioned all sorts of clubs in Germany, in Spain, in France and wondered why I did not go but the point is as a player I can't force myself on a club. I can't go to a club and tell them I am Dominic Adiyiah, please sign me," he added.

He is also hopeful the move will not mean omission from the Black Stars in the nearest future.

"If I am playing well the coach will judge me on my football and not what division I play in," he said.
