Accra Braces for Cranes Tie

The Cranes' trip to Egypt for an International build-up game has been confirmed with the hosts sending air tickets, Monday afternoon.

FUFA General Secretary Haruna Mawanda told The Monitor yesterday that 18 tickets have been sent, but are expecting more to bring the number to 25.

"The team will fly out August 18 on an Ethiopian Airlines flight and play the game on August 20," Mawanda said.

This will be the second last international build-up for the Cranes before they take on the Black Stars of Ghana on Sept. 7 in an Africa Nations Cup 2004 qualifier in Kampala. The team winds-up the build-ups against Zambia on August 31 in Kampala.

The Cranes are yet to enter residential camp. The team was supposed to enter camp at Lugogo on Monday, but FUFA did not have the money.

The team that played Kakungulu Cup holders Express FC last evening in a build-up game is now slated to enter camp tomorrow. The Cranes have already had a couple of build-up games with Police FC, Hallelujah FC of South Korea, Ethiopia, Sudan, Chad, Kenya and Chemelii FC, a Kenyan Premier League side.
