ADEBAYOR Storms Ghana

BLACK STARS and FC Basel full-back, Samuel Inkoom, is set to turn the twin city of Sekondi-Takoradi upside down come 26th of December 2010, in a star-studded charity event.

Speaking exclusively to 90 MINUTES yesterday from his Swiss base, the former Asante Kotoko defender says it has always been his dream to give back to society and hopes his modest contribution can go a long way to put smiles on the faces of the less fortunate in society.

“I want to give back to the community where I grew up and that's the greatest joy that comes up with it. Takoradi is where Inkoom nurtured the big dream of playing football at the highest level,” he said. “ So this is the time for me to also say thank you as their support, prayers and love have gone a long way to make this dream become a reality.”

Inkoom revealed that the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, Michael Essien, Stephen Appiah and other renowned African footballers are expected to grace the occasion.

“I have invited some of the finest football players on the continent to come and help make the event a success since I want to make it an annual event. I have contacted stars like Emmanuel Adebayor, Stephen Appiah, Gilles Yapi Yapo and a host of others to grace the occasion.” Credit: 90 Minutes Newspaper

It is also believed that the likes of Essien, Drogba and a host of other stars who share the same NIKE sponsorship band with Inkoom would be impressed upon by NIKE to hopefully make an appearance. On the purpose of the event, Inkoom explained: “The event is being held purposely to help the elderly and deprived in society. I have also taken into account some selected charity organizations in the community to benefit from this project.”
