Travails Of Nayele

Nayele Ametefe Nayele Ametefe

That the Ghanaian born Austrian citizen who is serving eight years and eight months jail term for trafficking 12.5 kg of cocaine to the United Kingdom with street value of $5 million had close ties with topnotch political figures and drug barons and had been dining with them until her arrest is no longer news.

Following Nayele Ametefe’s arrest on November 16, 2014 at Heathrow Airport and subsequent trial and conviction by the Isleworth Crown Court in London, an interesting disclosure about the adorable drug baroness was how she had travelled extensively with influential people, including politicians as her companions.
In his submission for mitigation to the court, lawyer for Nayele Ametefe also known as Ruby Adu Gyamfi; James Scobie, admitted that although his client came from a poor home and was once married to a spare parts dealer, she had been connected to powerful politicians in Ghana after she fell out with her husband.

Indeed, after her arrest in London, braggart and NPP MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong was quoted by sections of the Ghanaian media to have said that Ruby's decision not to say anything about the cocaine shipment was because she had been offered $3 million by high ups back in Ghana. This was after Foreign Affairs Minister, Hannah Tetteh told the nation that the cocaine baroness had said she would not speak and was willing to 'do' time in jail.

What influenced Nayele Ametefe to start “doing” drugs was her extravagant and lavish lifestyle which, those who know her said made her to be in dire need of more money to continue to maintain her new acquired status along with the prestige of being among the comity of business tycoons.

She was also reported to be in league with powerful politicians among them an influential Chief Executive (name withheld for now) of a strategic public institution.

The arrest of Nayele at Heathrow Airport in Lon¬don on November 16, 2014 with the cocaine was her seventh trip to Europe, particularly the United Kingdom, according to media reports.

Nayele Ametefe, The aL-hAJJ’s investigations have uncovered, did not only survive on proceeds from her ‘bulb shop” at Night Angels and drug money. This paper has uncovered that Nayele, who has had good time with her lover boy CEO, also grabbed multimillion cedis business contracts from the said state organization (more on that in our next edition).

Aside carrying the 12.5kg of cocaine, the drug damsel with multiple aliases also had $23,000 and an additional 6,000 Pounds in her handbag when she was arrested. Part of the money, The aL-hAJJ gathered, was meant to be payment for her courier services.

What many Ghanaians do not know is that Nayele had arranged to travel to the Dominican Republic two days after carting the 12.5kg of cocaine to UK in a bid to enter Latin America to “pick more good” from the sale of the cocaine.

A deep throat source privy to her travel itinerary have revealed that she had wanted to send proceeds from the sale of the cocaine through the Dominican Republic to owners of the 12.5kg in the Americas as payment to enable her bring in more supplies to Ghana.

However, her dream of traveling to South America to offset her bills and get more “goods” to sustain her lavish lifestyle was dashed when she was arrested at the Heathrow Airport. Stay tuned
