Cape Coast Diocese AACC holds Biennial Conference

Reverend Father Joseph Sam, priest in charge of the Holy Redeemer Anglican Church at Agona Kwanyako, has urged Ghanaians to re-kindle their commitment and dedication spirit to work, in order to help transform the dignity of the nation.

Rev. Father Sam made the call when he delivered the keynote address at the 11th Biennial Diocesan Conference of the Association of Anglican Church Choirs (AACC), of the Cape Coast Diocese, at Winneba.

The conference under the theme: “Take My Life And Let It Be,” was attended by members of the Association from the Cape Coast Cathedral, Saints Peter and Paul, Saltpond, St. James, Agona Swedru, Holy Redeemer, Agona Kwanyako, Rev. Thomas Thompson, OLA - East Cape Coast, Rev. Philip Quaque Adisadel, Cape Coast, St. Mary the Virgin, Elmina, St Monica’s, Aboom Cape Coast, St Luke Diocesan, St. Thomas Anomabo and St. John the Divine Anglican, Winneba.

Rev. Fr Sam said to rekindle their commitment to duty, they should be loyal to society and the church, be prayerful at anywhere they may find themselves, to receive the anointing and guidance from the Almighty God to deliver at any given time.

He urged them to be punctual at meetings, and be time-conscious, as well as learn new things and songs, because complacency kills growth and development.

He said, as choristers, they should bear in mind that they are have been set aside as a ministry in the church, and as such, they should continue to dedicate themselves to her growth.

Sister Anna Hanson, Diocesan Choir President, said their plans for the years ahead were to embark on serious membership drive, and emphasize on the need for various parish priests to support them to bring more members, as well as to make the church more vibrant.

“We will also find creative ways of raising fund to embark on programmes to reach out to the deprived communities in any of the Parishes to start a Day Care Centre, and also to develop the skills of all choristers in the signing of hymns and psalms,” she added Sister Hanson stated that as part of their new strategies they will seriously embark on crusades to bring on board other parishes that do not participate fully in choir activities, to forge ahead as a ministry of the church, to help win more soul for Christ.

Rev. Father Ato Mbrah Ghartey, Diocesan Choir Chaplain said, the choir plays a massive role in the activities of the church, and that is why they annually meet to take stock of the activities of the previous year, and formulate new plans.
