Christ came to redeem mankind – Prof Agbozo

The Reverend Professor Immanuel Agbozo, Founder of the Ghana Evangelical Society has urged Christians to continue to have faith in God because Jesus Christ came to redeem mankind from adversaries and difficulties.

He implored all and sundry to be submissive to the power of God and not to indulge in satanic activities, which affected relationship with the creator.

Prof Agbozo was speaking at a sermon to begin a three-day celebration of the National Redemption Month in Accra to thank God and the nation for mercies and protection.

He said "Christ is the central nature of all creation and that He came to set captives free". Christians therefore have theto love their neighbours and to live happy and fulfilled lives.

“We need to be happy because God assures us that in His presence there is fullness of joy hence we have the power to rejoice in the Lord” he added.

He noted that those who accepted Christ were the leading light and that "we need to put our thrust before God because Christ came to redeem the human soul and bring joy and happiness to Mankind".

Prof Agbozo said the study of subjects such as psychology, philosophy and the social sciences were pushing man away from God and urged such people to have a change of mind and follow God.

He said Africa shall be a model for divine redemption, urging all to have faith and discharge their responsibilities with fairness and honesty.
