Bonsam bites Obinim

Intriguing fetish priest Nana Kwaku Bonsam has asked Bishop Daniel Obinim to publicly apologise to former President Jerry John Rawlings and television hostess Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa for the recent insulting public outburst he spewed against them.

“I don’t understand Obinim and how he reads the Bible. It is true he is human and has emotions but even if Rawlings and Valentina have said something that he finds offensive, it does not mean he should start misbehaving and insulting them as if the Bible supports such a conduct.

“What happened to the teachings about respect for the elderly, forgiveness for people who insult us, loving your neighbour as yourself and honouring your father and mother? My bishop friend has gone overboard and he should redeem his image by apologising rather than playing the tough guy,” Bonsam told NEWS-ONE in a telephone interview from his New York base.

He continued: “Obinim is like a friend and brother to me. When I say he is a friend, I do not mean he has come to my shrine, no. I mean I like him a lot but I am worried he showed public disrespect to former President Jerry Rawlings , someone who served as President of Ghana for years.

“I beg Obinim and he should know that his own Bible requires him to honour his father and mother. Rawlings is fit to be Obinim’s father and deserves his honour but not his public insults and threats. I was also shocked to have heard Obinim insulting Valentina and describing her body parts with abusive words as if she was not created by the God Obinim serves. Even if the lady has said something wrong, why not send a rejoinder or go to the Media Commission; but you insult her right in front of your congregation.”

Bishop Obinim recently stood before his congregation at the International God’s way Ministries and literally run down the personalities of Jerry Rawlings and Valentina. The Bishop also threatened to appear to the two in their dreams if either of them spoke about him again.

Obinim’s comments were apparently in response to comments he said the two had made about him which he found offensive.

This is not the first time Daniel Obinim is causing a stair with his controversies. In time past, he topped news headlines for several mind-blowing reasons.

Obinim once confirmed on public radio that he had an adulterous relationship with a married woman who is also a member of his church.

In November 2009, the Suame Divisional Police Crime Officer, DSP Kwaku Duah, confirmed to PEACE NEWS that he had ordered Bishop Obinim to produce two individuals to assist in investigations into a case of conspiracy.

Bishop Daniel Obinim was alleged to be the brain behind a plot to bury dead snakes, bones suspected to be human parts and red candles at the church premises of a rival pastor, Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom, at Ahenema Kokoben, a suburb of Kumasi.

Again, Bishop Obinim was once arrested by the Adabraka police for assaulting a presenter at Hot FM while the presenter was on air. The presenter and his panel were discussing a story about Bishop Obinim’s alleged five-year affair with the wife of an associate pastor of his church when he reportedly burst into the studios with his bodyguards.

In January 2010, Obinim again became a subject of news when a 30-year-old trader, Florence Nyame, threatened to take a legal action against him for publicly claiming that she was infected with the deadly HIV\AIDS virus.
