Christians urged to let goodness overcome evil in daily lives

Ho, April 2, GNA - The Right Reverend Francis Amenu, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, on Good Friday, urged Christians to let goodness overcome evil in their daily lives. He said in all things and under all circumstances they should make it a point to overcome evil with good just as Jesus Christ did when he was going through his sufferings.

Rt. Rev. Amenu advised them against retaliation and conceiving evil thoughts for perceived enemies. "We should avoid if you slap me, I will shoot you kind of attitudes and allow goodness to overcome evil to make the world a better place for all," he said.

On the recent cases of frequent acts of violence among the youth, Rt. Rev. Amenu urged young people to "outlive the primitive and brutal, not to leave a legacy of broken world with broken lives." Quoting Martin Luther King Junior, the Moderator urged the youth, "Not to use second class means to achieve first class ends" and that violence could not take the country to the promised land of peace and development.
