English-Arabic school opens at Dormaa-Ahenko

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), Sept. 18, GNA - A new English-Arabic basic school designed to blend the Muslim education with secular knowledge has been inaugurated at Dormaa-Ahenkro. The school which is located at Zongo "A" a suburb of Dormaa-Ahenkro began with 33 pupils in 2007 but now has 90 pupils. Chairman of the School's Parent Teachers Association (PTA), Wofa Allah, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), criticized the growing number of children within Zongo communities, who do not go to school.

He urged parents to consider their children's future while deciding on what to invest in today. "Experience over the past years has shown that education runs second to no other human endeavour and remains the surest legacy to bequeath the next generation," Wofa Allah said. He expressed gratitude to the Dormaa Municipal Assembly and the Dormaa Traditional Council for their support during the establishment of the school.
