Church prays for national progress

Akyem Oda (E/R), Dec. 27, GNA - The Reverend Daniel T.K. Doe, General Overseer of the New Jerusalem Healing Church at Odobeng in the Central Region, on Thursday called on Ghanaians to pursue the truth in order to help move the country forward in its development process. In a special church service for the nation at Odobeng, Rev. Doe urged Christians to be tolerant of all shades of opinion and views to help promote peace and unity in the society.

He noted that without the truth, it would be difficult for Ghanaians to provide decent livelihood to enhance their lifestyle. "As Christians, we have the onerous responsibility to be peacemakers who should build bridges of understanding and reconciliation and leave no stone unturned to remove rancour and mistrust in our society", he stated.

Rev. Doe cautioned that differences in views and opinions should not breed hatred or conflicts, but rather promote community and national development.

The General Overseer called on Christians to lead and champion the moral crusade, adding that Christians were meant to be symbols of life of absolute purity.

He asked for God's guidance for the pursuit of policies that would lead to the growth and development of the country. Rev. Doe stressed the need for the electorate to take active participation in local governance. He also urged the electorate to do away with apathy that acts as a drawback to good governance in communities and rather get involved in the work of the various district assemblies.

He advised members of the church, especially the youth to avoid ungodly and negative practices, so as to help promote good Christianity. 27 Dec. 07
