Wenchi Anglican Church holds Christmas crusade

Nkoranza (B/A), Dec. 23, GNA - Reverend Canon Barnabas Kofi Okoh, Parish Priest in-charge of the Wenchi Anglican Church has urged persons entrusted with leadership responsibilities to be God fearing and exhibit love and kindness to the people they served to win their trust and confidence.

Rev. Okoh was preaching on Sunday at the end of a five-day annual Christmas crusade organised by the Nkoranza/Atebubu Arc-deaconry of the Anglican Diocese of Sunyani at Nkoranza. The crusade, attended by members of the church and the general public, was under the theme; "Christ the Good Shepherd". He expressed worry about how some reverend ministers refused to respect the views of their members and took decisions on their own, advising that, such negative attitudes should never be encouraged in the Anglican Church.

Rev. Okoh said in rendering services to the church, reverend ministers should not discriminate among the members, else they would create factions which would affect the development of the church. He called on the youth of the church to allow biblical teachings to reflect on their lives so that they would eschew social vices and grow as responsible leaders.

Rev Okoh led the congregation to pray to God to shower His blessings upon the country for incident-free election run-off, saying, "God should choose his anointed man who would be able to lead the country into prosperity and development so that we would continue to enjoy our peace and stability". Mr Francis Donyina, Peoples Warden of the Nkoranza Saint Barnabas Anglican Church commended the members for their discipline at the crusade and advised them to maintain that good spirit.
