Takoradi Pentecost offers prayers for smooth political activities.

Takoradi, April 28, GNA- Members of the Takoradi East District branch of the Church of Pentecost on Sunday rounded-off their week-long revival with special prayers for God's guidance to ensure a smooth general election in December this year.

They also thanked God for giving leaders of the Church the courage and wisdom for the peaceful conduct of the just ended 37th session of the General Council Meeting of the Church at which new national officers were elected.

Pastor Steve Miller, District Pastor, in a sermon said, Ghana is an icon of peace, tranquillity and love in the sub-region and God would see the country through the seemingly difficult election period as in previous elections.

He urged Christians and non-Christians alike to help sustain the existing peaceful atmosphere by relying on the Almighty God for guidance and protection in everything they do.

Highlights of the activities were the special prayers for Mr Koby Darko-Mensah, one of the five NPP aspiring parliamentary candidates for the Takoradi constituency and the blessing of the 45-year-old marriage of Mr and Mrs Charles Osam Nunoo, who are 75 and 73 years old respectively.

Pastor Miller explained that the Church of Pentecost was non-partisan; however, it would not deny prayer assistance to any political party or individual politicians who attend Church service to ask for God's guidance to enable them to achieve their ambitions.

He said marriage was ordained by God and therefore Christian couples must not do anything that would damage the image and essence of the institution.

Pastor Miller advised couples whose marriage had not been brought to the Church for blessing to do so for recognition by God.
