Stop being deceptive-Politicians told

THE ASSOCIATE Reverend of The Joy of the Lord Prayer Ministry International, Israel Amey, has urged politicians in the country to be truthful and stop their deceptive ways and manner in their quest to win power.
Preaching a sermon on the theme, ‘Be Faithful to God So You Can Live Long’, he said if the politicians were truthful and faithful to God their creator, Ghana would have moved forward and that the current hardships will not befall on this country us.
Rev. Amey noted that politicians of today give false and vain promises to their people such as giving them bread and honey when they are voted for to become parliamentarians and president as well as solving all the problems facing the country.
“Both parliamentarians and the presidency have some canny attitude of deceiving their followers with the intention of solving every individual’s problem, knowing very well that they cannot honour those promises.
“They have deceived Ghanaians for a long time. Government upon government has come and gone yet the problems of the country still exist, things have not changed,” Rev. Amey stated.
He further urged Ghanaians not to put their trust and hope in the politician who is a man but rather rely on God to provide and solve their problems for them. “Politicians have broken many people’s hearts because they put all their hope and trust in them.
He quoted Jeremiah 17:5 which states that, “This is what the LORD says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the LORD.”
According to him the leaders of this country should submit themselves to God by seeking the face of the Lord first in their daily dealings. “The leaders in the country should be prayerful and also be faithful to God by paying their tithe regularly in their local churches.
He contended that most politicians in the country are behaving like Ananias and Sapphira who were not truthful to God and lie to God about the money they got when they sold their property and had themselves to blame.
Rev. Amey affirmed that politicians should pay their tithes so that the wrath of God will not be upon them. “It is through that times are very hard but if we are faithful to God he will alleviate us from this suffering since the world is in financial crisis.
“Tithe payment is like assuring one’s life through life insurance policies therefore everybody must endeavour to honour it.”
