‘Stick to your calling’

General Overseer of God’s Power and Deliverance Chapel International in the Greater Accra region, Bishop Samuel K. Ofori, has advised pastors to operate within their “call of office.”

Bishop Ofori, who is also the leader of Transformation Bible College (TBC), bemoaned the development where some pastors these days call themselves prophets whilst they are not.

The man of God made this observation at the 5th Ordination of the Transformation Bible College in Accra recently when he spoke on the theme; “The Office of the Priest.”

According to him, each and every one has an office that he or she operates from, but some pastors have abandoned their call and are operating in different offices.

Buttressing his point, the man of God quoted 1st Corinthians 12:7-10 that there are different types of offices that God has given to pastors.

These, he mentioned, include the spirit of wisdom, the word of knowledge, faith, gift of healing, working of spirits, gift of prophecy, singing and discerning of spirits.

However, the bishop was sad that many ministers have abandoned their chosen offices and were rather doing a different thing.

What is worrying, he said, was the fact that everybody now was claiming to be a prophet and thereby giving false prophecies which are not from God.

“Some people have the gift of evangelism and also singing and through their ministrations, people will get to know God more and even some get their healings through music and if such persons abandon their call, who is supposed to step in for them,” he quizzed.

Bishop Ofori also admonished his colleague pastors to identify their calling so as not to incur the wrath of God.

In all, five pastors were ordained and these were; Isaac Kwame Ampofo, Desmond Osarfo Ampofo, Grace Afua Donkor, Winifred Dzifa Babia and Hannah Mensah.

The occasion saw the presence of Archbishop Nana Yaw Amakye, Bishop Osei Bonsu, Prophet Paul Gyebi, Rev. Prophet Joyfrey Obuobi, Rev. Enoch Nkoom, Rev. Richard Acheampong and Rev. Michael Effah.
