SDA Church ordains six pastors

Sunyani, May 19, GNA - The Mid-West Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church at the weekend ordained six new priests with a charge on them to lead Christ-like lives for their members to emulate. The six were pastors Seth Asare Tawiah, Emmanuel Opoku-Takyi, Daniel Owusu Ansah, James Amoh, Jonathan Amo Amoyaw and Flacus Kofi Afriyie Amponsah.

Pastor Samuel Adama Larmie, President of the Ghana Union Conference of the Church who made the call, reminded the new pastors that God had invited them to work for Him and that such honour went with responsibilities. "Lead Christ-like lives just as the Master Himself and you must endure hardships as good soldiers of the Lord Jesus Christ", he said, and urged them to let their conduct, attitudes and behaviours win more lost souls to Christ.

In a sermon, Pastor Anthony Kessie, President of South Ghana Conference of the Church, called on Christians to "wake up from their slumber" and shun activities and practices that were considered anti-Christ. He said immense opportunities had been given to pastors as leaders of congregations to intensify the propagation of the gospel to save more lost souls and to inculcate in Ghanaians the spirit of team work for accelerated national development. Personalities including some members of the church were honoured with certificates and citations for their exemplary leadership and contributions to the growth of the church.
