Reverend Osei Sarpong inducted

Mampong-Ashanti, Nov. 29, GNA - Right-Reverend Dr Yaw Frimpong-Manso, Moderator of General Assembly of Presbyterian Church of Ghana has called on Ministers of the Church to have genuine desire for the salvation of their congregations. "You are expected to faithfully discharge your duties of office effectively by preaching the word of God boldly without fear or favour," he added.

Rt-Rev. Frimpong-Manso made the call at the induction of Reverend Stephen Osei Sarpong, as Chairman of Sekyere Presbytery of the Church, for a five-year term at Asante-Mampong. He succeeded Reverend Thomas Boakye whose term of office ended recently.

Rt-Rev. Frimpong-Manso cautioned church leaders to desist from any philosophical position or materialism that might side-track their ministry, but behoved them to discipline themselves to pursue their goals.

He urged Christians to work hard to address such challenges as religious conflicts, indifference to spiritual issues, inconsistencies in Christian faith, corruption, nepotism and bad citizenship. Rev. Osei Sarpong expressed appreciation to the congregation for their support and pledged to live up to expectation. 29 Nov. 08
