Rev. Minister expresses concern about low turn out at Akim Oda Methodist Church

Akim Oda, Dec 25, GNA-The Very Reverend S. K. Opoku, Synod Secretary of the Akim Oda Diocese of the Methodist Church of Ghana, has expressed worry about the apathy of Christians towards Christian festivities. Unlike previous years when the Cathedral was filled to capacity and extra seats had to be provided outside the main hall of the Cathedral, this time round, only a handful of church members were present at the Christmas day church service.

Very Rev. Opoku who was preaching the sermon on Christmas day at the St Luke Methodist Cathedral at Akim Oda noted with concern the low attendance at the church.

He observed that, as a Christian nation, Ghanaians should be seen and heard celebrating the birth of Christ with all seriousness otherwise, "we are joking".

Rev. Opoku, who is also the Superintendent Minister of the St. Luke Methodist Cathedral, reminded Christians that they would not see the glory of God if they continue to worship in that way. He advised Christians to use the occasion of the birth of Christ to reconcile with each other to help promote peace and reconciliation in the country.
