Religious leaders asked to condemn wrongs in chieftaincy

Awutu-Breku (C/R), April 5, GNA - The Mankrado of Awutu Traditional Area, Nai Kwao Kurabi Clottey III, has called on religious leaders to speak against the affluent in society, who are not royals, but used their wealth to acquire traditional status.

He said churches and Muslims must use their medium of worships to condemn such actions by the rich.

Nai Kurabi Clottey III was addressing a group of Christians as part of the activities to mark this year's Easter holidays. He said it was about time religious organisation foster greater collaborations with government to curb practices and acts that according to him was gradually gaining roots in the society. The Mankrado said his reason for the call stemmed from the fact that some of these wealthy people were stunt followers of the Christian and Islamic faiths. He asked Christians to use the occasion of Easter to open a new chapter for total salvation.
