Presbyterian TV Ministry seeks corporate support

Accra, Nov. 19, GNA - The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) on Monday called on corporate bodies to sponsor and advertise on its television programme "Channel of Hope" to help transform the lives of many individuals in the society.

The TV programme, which falls under the Church's Evangelism Directorate, targets the working class, Christians and non-Christians through drama, sermons and documentaries of real life situations as a way of reforming society.

The Right Rev. Dr. Yaw Frimpong-Manso, Moderator of PCG, who did the corporate launch in Accra, said the contribution of PCG in Ghana was tremendous especially in the fields of education and agriculture. He said it was disappointing to notice the current spate of indiscipline in the society adding that this had affected productivity in the nation.

Right Rev. Dr. Frimpong-Manso observed that bad leadership in working circles and among the youth did not augur well for society. "Channel of Hope will make lives within the corporate world better". He said there was need for effective partnership between business entities and the church to help sharpen, transform as well as reintroduce the rich cultural values of the nation. The Rev. Godfred Bamfo, Director of Evangelism, PCG, said the TV Ministry would soon set up a 24-hour prayer team. Dominic Ansah Asare, Chairperson of the TV Ministry, said total production cost for a year amounted to GH=A275,400 adding that interested sponsors would be categorized into main and silver sponsors who would be given priority service. He said main sponsors would get three live presenter mentions, have their logo displayed for 20 minutes and acknowledgement at the end of the programme.
