Omanhene urged Ghanaians to pray to overcome temptations

Apam (C/R), April 17, GNA - The Omanhene of Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Area, Obrifo Ahumaku Ahor Ankobea II, has urged Ghanaians to pray unceasingly to be able to overcome all temptations. "We will live to regret if we underrate the strength of the devil," the Omanhene stated when he addressed the Winneba Zone of the Church of Pentecost convention at Apam.

The chief attributed the current problems in the country including the energy crisis to the work of the devil saying: "Ghana has been regarded as a peaceful country in the sub-region therefore the devil will leave no stone unturned to create problems for us". He cited the calamities, which befell Job, God's faithful servant to buttress his assertion.

"Christ himself was tempted so we should not think we are temptation free", the Omanhene cautioned.

In a sermon on the theme: "Don't compromise with this contemporary world", the Reverend William Ofori-Attah, Apam District Pastor of Church of Pentecost charged Christians to insist on what was right and just at all times.

Pastor Ofori-Attah said it was not only the devil that Christians should not compromise with but also people who might want to lead them astray.

He noted that some people who decided to attend the convention later changed their minds because some friends had decided not to attend.

The Pastor said society was full of evil so people should pray to God to guide them to use their conscience for the right things. "Without prayers we will always be led astray," he stated. About 2,500 faithful attended the four-day convention.
