Muslim cleric speaks against un-Islamic conducts

Kumasi, Jan. 10, GNA - Mallam Ibrahim Alkad, Ashanti Regional Imam o= f the Ghana Muslim Mission, has urged Muslims to avoid un-Islamic attitudes and behaviours that could lead to disunity in the society. He asked Muslims to eschew envy, arrogance, hatred and other anti-social practices so that the relative peace the nation was enjoying would be sustained.

Imam Alkad who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi on Sunday said: 93We (Muslims) should lead upright lives for people to emulat= e." The Regional Imam said there was the need for Muslims and Ghanaians of other faith to pray to Allah for forgiveness of sins so that He would continue to shower His blessings on the country. "Let us pray so that the unexpected political upheavals and misunderstanding in other countries do not manifest in our society," Imam Alkad added. He expressed worry about the abusive language used against people in authority and called for an end to the practice.
