Musama Church to hold peace talks with breakaway faction

Agona Swedru (C/R), July 5, GNA - Reverend Ohene Ansah, Administrative Secretary of the newly formed Musama Church International, has said the hierarchy of the Church is ready to hold peace talks with the Musama Disco Christo Church (MDCC). He said the reconciliation initiative was ordered by the ruling of the Cape Coast High Court.

Rev Ohene-Ansah made this known when eight pastors and six deacons from Agona Swedru and Mozano Districts of the Church were ordained at Swedru in the Agona West Municipality. He said the Executive Council Members of the Church are ready to smoke the peace pipe in order to salvage the MDCC church from collapsing and restore its lost glory.

He said the top brass of the Musama Church International are waiting for the other faction to accept the High Court ruling. Rev Ohene-Ansah said the Musama Church International has ordained pastors and deacons in Kumasi, Cape Coast, Assin Fosu, Potsin, Chorkor, Takoradi and Agona Swedru to help sustain the evangelism in the church.

He said the church has opened branches in the United Kingdom, the United States, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Gambia and Cote D' Ivoire. Reverend J.K. Donkoh, Deputy Senior Pastor of the Church urged the new pastors to preach the gospel and not to allow monetary gains to concern them. He again called on the pastors to desist from acts that could affect the image of the church.
