Involve non-Christians in Christian activities

Cape Coast (C/R), May 2, GNA- Mr Joseph Armah, Youth Organiser of the Bethany Methodist Church has said that, Christians should be ready and willing to invite non-Christians to participate in their activities. He said this was the only way the Church, through its activities could win more souls and expand its membership. Mr Armah said these after organising 150 young people within the church and the Essikadu community to the Kakum National Park (KNP) at Cape Coast on Thursday, as part of the May Day celebrations. He said many Christians refuse to entice non-Christians to participate in their activities, but this must change if the teeming youth, who refuse to attend any church, could be converted.

Mr Armah explained that the inclusion of non-believers in church activities could go a long way to change their minds over time and assist them to also become followers of Jesus. He said the trip was to afford members of the church and their new friends the opportunity to know the importance of tourism in the socio-economic development of the country. Mr Armah said the trip also enabled many of the youths to learn at first hand, the proper preservation of the environment, water bodies and nature in general. He said the KNP held several educational programmes on environmental protection, perseveration of wildlife and the promotion of sound environmental management practices.

Master Frederick H. Aikins, one of the beneficiaries of the trip said the inclusion of over 60 youths from the Essikadu township, had positively impacted on them. He said many of them found new friends among the members of the church and thanked them for inviting them for the trip.
