Gospel-centered ministers should bring Spiritual Renewal to the Church

The Right Reverend Emmanuel Yeboah Mensah, Principal of the Shepherd Ministerial Institute at Ashaiman, has said it is critical to train gospel-centered ministers who would bring spiritual renewal to the Church and moral sanctity to our culture.

Rt. Rev Mensah, who is also the principal of the Crown School of Ordination, made the call at the Second Ordination ceremony organised by the Institute for five pastors at Ashaiman, under the theme: “Developing Good Shepherds by following the Noble Examples of Jesus Christ.”

The Ordination brings to 22, the number of pastors ordained by the Institute in the last couple of years.

The ordained pastor are: Pastor Daniel Kwame Mensah (The Lord’s Apostle Church-Tema New Town); Pastor John Owusu Boateng (Fire Way Chapel-Pankrono, Kumasi); Pastor Patrick Avinu (Resident Pastor-Faith Ambassadors Ministry, Sun City-Adjei Kojo); Pastor Raphael Kyekye (General Overseer-Heaven Assurance Chapel, Klagon-Lashibi); and Evangelist Felicia Voyee.

Bishop Mensah reminded the new pastors that as salt and light of the world, they should lead morally upright lives worthy of emulation by their followers.

He urged them to be more committed, devoted and dedicated to their vocation, and let truth, honesty, integrity and the fear of God be their guiding principles.

Mr. Samuel Agyarko, Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of the Institute, urged the pastors to be worthy ambassadors of the Institute by putting into practice the knowledge they had acquired during their one-year training period.

The new pastors pledged to be good shepherds of their flocks.**
