Ghanaians asked to eschew negative practices

Adwumakase-Kese (Ash), Jan. 15, GNA - The Reverend Yaw Asare, Bishop of the Harris Church of Ghana, at the Weekend asked Ghanaians to eschew bribery and corruption, nepotism, discrimination, drug-trafficking and others negative practices that impeded progress of the nation.

He said government's programmes aimed at ensuring socio-economic development required the collective contribution of all Ghanaians.

Rev. Asare was preaching a sermon as part of activities to commemorate the 38th anniversary celebration of the Church, at its headquarters at Adwumakase-Kese, in the Kwabre district. The four-day celebration being attended by over 800 members drawn all over the country and Cote d'Ivoire is under the theme, 93Arise and Shine".

Rev. Asare advised Ghanaians to live in love, peace and unity to ensure stability for national development.

He also urged Christians to lead lives worthy of emulation to win more souls for Christ and appealed to revered ministers to preach against social vices to help transform society.

Mr Kwaku Anane Marfo, treasurer of the Church, announced that the Church has established an international school at Adwumakase-Kese, as its contribution to the promotion of education in the country, and appealed to the people in the area to patronise the facility.
