Ga Presbytery of PCG holds 36th Conference

Accra, April 13, GNA - Rev Professor Emmanuel Martey, Chairman of the Ga Presbytery on Sunday charged Christians to diligently learn the word of God and have faith to become more rooted in him. He said growing into maturity required that the individual subjected himself to constant learning, become teachable and adapt to changes in the environment. Rev. Professor Martey said this at a church service organised as part of activities marking the 36th presbytery conference under the theme: "Let Us Go On To Maturity".

Reading a verse from Hebrews 6:1, he said Christians should not let the physical environment control their quest for spiritual things, adding that they should avail themselves to be true teachers of the word. He said Ghanaians should not take the peace the nation was enjoying for granted since it demonstrated how the nation had travelled through hard times to the present condition. Right Rev Yaw Frimpong-Manso, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, called on Ghanaians to turn over a new leaf in all spheres of their life as they grow into maturity. "The old ways of doing things must stop". The Ga Presbytery Council, the highest decision making body, comprises nine districts. Some 274 delegates from 24 presbyteries are expected to participate in the conference whose main agenda is to seek the way forward toward growth.
