Covenant Family Community Church ordains new pastors

Accra, Dec. 3, GNA - The Reverend Dennis Osei Manu, Senior Pastor of the Covenant Family Community Church, has urged Ghanaians to be in constant prayer to maintain peace in the country.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency on Monday after the ordination of four new pastors for the church in Accra made up of three women and one man, the former Flight Operations Manager of KLM said it was the responsibility of Christians to ensure that the relative peace that Ghana currently enjoyed was not taken for granted.

"It is in this direction that I call on all Christians to keep praying for the nation especially as we are entering an election year and there is the tendency for some unscrupulous persons to disturb the peace," Rev. Manu said.

"I want to take this opport unity to urge Ghanaians not to do anything that will disturb the peace we are enjoying. The government is doing all it can to keep the peace and we should also do our part by not doing things that could derail progress in the country during the general elections next year." The church saw the ordination of Mrs Hilda Naa Okailey Boye, Mrs Betty Naayi Zormelo and Mr. and Mrs. Hammond. Rev. Manu urged Ghanaians to work at economic prosperity since it was one of the major means by which the country could become independent and self reliant. He urged the pastors to always renew their relationship with God and also preach the truth and live by it. "You should also make time for your spouses and children." Rev. Anthony Williams, a visiting Pastor of Breakthrough Community Church, Malaysia, who preached the sermon, said it was time for Christian to rise and be counted in the nation by pointing at the way to prosperity and spiritual emancipation. 3 Dec. 07
