Clergyman says Christmas cannot be dismissed

Accra, Dec. 23, GNA – Most Reverend Dr Justice O. Akrofi, Archbishop of the Anglican Church of the Province of West Africa and Bishop of Accra, on Friday said Christmas was a special and peculiar event that could not be dismissed lightly.

"It suggests that even the small and humble circumstances can be used for great things if we allow God to take hold of us," he said in a Christmas message issued in Accra.

Most Rev. Akrofi noted that Christmas offered Christians the chance to manifest peace, justice and truth.

Bishop Akrofi asked Ghanaians to ensure peace and stability and reminded the people "Ghana is our only beloved country, the envy of other African countries and therefore, it will not augur well for us if by our actions and inactions we become refugees elsewhere in Africa".
