Church appeals for Day Care Centre materials

Suhum (E/R), Aug 17, GNA - A Pentecostal Church at Suhum in the Eastern Region, has appealed to the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport to assist it with building materials, to complete a school project.

Prophet Micheal Avonyor, 43, General Overseer of the Holy Ghost Gethsemane Prayer Ministry, made the appeal through the Ghana News Agency at Suhum on Sunday, shortly after the church's executive cum patrons meeting.

Prophet Avonyor stated that as a Christian institution, he wanted to establish a Day Care Centre at Ayehbrom, a suburb between Suhum and Adarkwah for the numerous "early school- going children" in the area. "Because there is no nursery or day care here, most of the parents send their children to the markets or their farms until in the evening when they return, but I am not happy with the situation and therefore, decided to establish the school," he stated.

According to the prophet, his Prayer Ministry lived on pledges, harvests and offering from about a 150-member congregation and that the income realised from the Ministry was not sufficient for the school. He stated that he had healed various sicknesses and solved spiritual ailment through prayers, the core function of the Ministry.

The General Overseer said the Prayer Ministry has embarked upon a 10,000 Ghana Cedis living quarters for patients that go to receive healing at the Ministry.
