Christians advised to arrest immorality in the society

Kumasi, April 28, GNA - The Reverend Joshua Williams Acheampong, District Minister of the Patasi Presbyterian Church, has advised Christians to abide by the teachings and principles of Christianity. He said such a commitment was necessary if Christians were to effectively address the global challenges of poverty, diseases, sexual promiscuity and high rate of crime in the youth.

Rev Acheampong was speaking at the inauguration of the District branch of the Singing Band of the church at Patasi in Kumasi on Sunday.

He said it was quite discouraging that most Christians in recent times had compromised on their Christian values, norms and principles to the disadvantage of the society and that this was a major contributing factor to the indiscipline and ills in the church and society in general.

He reminded Christians that they were the light and salt of the world and as such should endeavour to always lead exemplary lives worthy of emulation.

Mr John Boakye Kusi, District President of the Band, cautioned members to always be disciplined to ensure that they achieved their mission statement of changing the lives of the citizenry through music.
