Christ crucifixion means renewal of faith- Laity

Hohoe, April 22 (Awumah) GNA - Mr Kofi Ellis, a Laity of the Hohoe branch of the Bethel Methodist Church on Good Friday said the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ calls for renewal of faith, hearts and minds towards God and mankind. He said it was an indication that Christians were at liberty to be true son's of God.

Mr Ellis, delivering the sermon on the theme: 93The Meaning of His Suffering," he exhorted Christians that Christ paid the full price being the sins of Christians and his admission that 93It is finished" connotes the payment of the full penalty for our sins. He said those who believed in the death of Christ Jesus could live and escape the wrath of death and principalities because 93He has dominion over everything".

Mr Ellis said Christians were fortunate because Christ's power and dominion over death brought salvation to all who believed in Him. He called on believers in Christ to reflect positively about the occasion and reposition themselves to have the full benefits and not to toil in vain.

Rev Mrs Rebecca Dojoe-Torsu, Associate Pastor of Reverend Seeger Memorial E. P. Church, Hohoe said Christ's atonement for the sins of mankind should be a turning point in the lives of Christians all over the world and extend love to those who urgently needed it. She therefore called on the leadership of the Church to exemplify truth in all endeavours and extol the virtues of God on earth and goodwill to mankind.

Rev Dojoe-Torsu said Christians must embrace the reciprocity of the crucifixion and death of Christ by upholding the truth, justice and loving one another to deepen the meaning and significance of Easter.
